Monday, April 6, 2020
Below is a copy of the email we received directly from Cal South today. It explains that all activities will be shut down until the State deems it safe to return.
Dear Cal South Members,
In accordance with the State of California and the Governor’s Stay-At-Home-Order as well as guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the California Department of Public Health, the suspension of Cal South programs and competition activities continue until further notice. The Cal South Board of Directors voted to extend this suspension during its monthly meeting held on Saturday, April 4, in compliance with the Stay-At-Home Order signed by the Governor on March 19. The suspension, in place since March 13, came as a result of the propagation of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and it will not be lifted until State authorities have lifted or made any changes to their Stay-At-Home Order.

The suspension covers all Cal South events and sanctioned activities including, but not limited to, State Cup, National Cup, California Regional League, Pacific Conference, Adult State Cup, Golden Valley Soccer League play, as well as any ODP Programming, Coaching Education Courses, and Referee Courses. Other activities sanctioned by Cal South such as practices, tournaments, camps, etc., are also suspended in accordance with the guidelines for social distancing as established by local, state and national agencies and health organizations.
Cal South State and National Cup Olders competitions and activities are suspended indefinitely pursuant to the State and the California Department of Public Health permitting such activities to resume. Any team wishing to withdraw from the State Cup or National Cup Olders Division may do so with a full refund or credit, applied to future Cal South programming.
Cal South is actively monitoring national and state organizations, including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), the California Department of Public Health, the United States Soccer Federation, US Youth Soccer and the United States Adult Soccer Association and we will continue to evaluate the circumstances associated with COVID-19 and update our status to members as conditions change and will communicate updates on our website, social media channels and via email.
